Chessmaster 11 works in Linux

Post by biscuit1953 » Sat Aug 18, 2012 1:38 pm

I was surprised but after installing Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition in Linux Mint everything worked. The only thing I had to do was go directly into the wine C: drive under "program files" and then "Ubisoft." Launch the "game.exe" with wine and it will open up. You must add the Chessmaster patch separately. Download it from the internet and then install it.

I had no intention to upgrade from Chessmaster 9000 but the Grandmaster Edition allows the program to run wihout the DVD. There is no refueling as in the other editions.

Just an update. The only problem I have had so far is getting the thing lines to work properly. The visual thinking lines work just fine though.
