Problems Analysing with my Laptop

Post by aiorla » Mon Aug 02, 2010 10:13 pm

Hi OpenChess users,

I've noticied that when I'm analysing chess positions with my old laptop the kn/s raise to a good (and normal) number but suddenly, after some minutes, it descends slowly but without stop.
What's wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Aitor

PS: It happens with all the engines, and with one or two cores activated. I use only 512 Mb of RAM and I have 4GB. No applications are running during the analysis.
PS2:I don't know if is useful but it's a Intel Core Duo T7700 not overclocked Windows Vista x64.

Could it be overheating? It sounds like throttling (the speed of the computer is reduced to avoid damage by heat).
