It's a popular subject in the tournament hall/chess clubs. Without mentioning any GM's or IM'S names it's safe to say Houdini is quite popular amongst these players. Obviously Deep Rybka, Stockfish, Firebird, Ivanhoe and a few others are popular. Most commercial engines are on the back burner so to speak.What I find interesting is the use of these engines by top players in the opening stage looking for theoretical novelties. These engines are helping to change what is played in the openings.
