Damn, did I miscalculate. Wish I had done 24. ...Qd8 instead. I'm off to Greece for a week, will check in on this game when I have internet access...

r2q4/1b2Qp2/p1k4B/2pp1B2/3P4/1p5P/PP3PP1/4R1K1 w - - 1 29

If you had that would lose to 29. Qxc5#

Why not resign instead, this is lost even against sub 1000 elo player ;).

I would not be so sure a 1000 elo rated player or lower could win this, those are the kind of odds I bet you could give to a 1000 elo player or lower and win maybe 50% of the time if not more. 8-)

I would say 1000 elo is good estimate where a player with queen odd would always win.
I'm maybe 1300-1400 elo, and I can't say with significance that in the current position the mate is in 9 (as engines can), but I'm pretty sure it's very close.

Edit: In game where rating of players is at least 1200elo, IMO only fair thing to do with a queen down is to resign.

It would be interesting to see what kind of odds could be given to a 1000 elo or lower player. I guess the higher your rating the more odds you can give.
