Beach Boys, "Smile", shelved since 1967, has been released as "The Smile Sessions". Some amazing material, wildly ahead of its time. The project grew out of the collage techniques demonstrated in the production of the "Good Vibrations" single.
If you don't know the Beach Boys, especially their late-60s recordings, you should get acquainted: complexly textured electronic projects such as Kraftwerk or Stereolab come more or less directly from this music...
