I guess that in one week he will have a version with a few minor repairs that will be stronger.

No new version in the nearest future.
I tested the CM->ext_flags bugfix (which affects SMP performance only) and it produced slightly lower average depth than the original version (though still within statistical error bounds). So I decided not to release it, since the ELO gain is likely to be zero.
However the next version will of course include the bugfix. But only after extensive SMP testing in order to ensure that it works as intended and doesn't decrease average depth.

Nice to hear that there is no new version tomorrow :-)

What is your guess? How much of Gull2 is directly copied code and how much is own work?

Thanks for Engine

Well, evaluation from Ivanhoe (rewritten in Gull's code style) is about 700 lines long. The entire engine is currently ~6500 lines (including some inactive code). So it's about 10-15% Ivanhoe :)
Of course, the significance of evaluation is much more than 10-15%. But it's very hard to determine how much it is in terms of the "difficulty to invent without using someone else ideas".

I don't mind using ideas at all, in contrary, that is why peoply publish their sources. It is just a matter of understanding and do it by yourself rather than just a plain copy&paste.

Anyhow, now you just have to remove the childish author pseudonym in the engine and replace it with V...D... and all is fine with it.

Btw: You have forgotten the contact in the readme as it was there in previous versions.

Bye and thx again
