Kookaburra V 2.0.0

Post by Homayoun » Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:29 pm

Kookaburra v 2.0.0
By Dorsz :Small changes only, some unused patches of recent Stockfish, perhaps stronger than the one from February 11, at least in my tests, nothing special.

I don't know why but with Polyglot book support the engine didn't work properly so I had to remove it. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next version.

Note: Many thanks to dorsz for updating his great and magnificent engine.

Best regards

Devs have changed a lot of things in latest Stockfish source (even UCI) . Polyglot must be fixed on most derivatives, also others are not including it anymore ;)

I tried to rewrite the code and I thought it would work, but the engine crashed after loading the book.

Anyone knows how to properly add polyglot feature? I'm testing new Kookaburra with many changes. It shoud be much stronger. It would be nice to add book support to it.

Yes, it would be ideal to solve the problem with polyglot books. This latest version is almost as good as the previous one without any substantial difference in the level of play. By the way Thank you for your work.
Greetings

OrgZ did you try to fix it?

Today is the day I wanted to release new Kookaburra where I did many changes. It is stronger than v2.00, but latest Stockfish is even slightly stronger so to be honest I recommend to use it instead.
