Re: Free game recording software for Android?
But you're right, we do not see that and I think it is a question of read/write systems
I've done with an android application "x-plore" and moved to a nearby export.pgn folder, and then I was able to retrieve the file.
I checked this again today and the scid folder is visible now through mtp ...

Re: Free game recording software for Android?
Save the game to SD does exactly what you want. It appends the game to a file, by default called "games.pgn" for games you enter, or "tour.pgn" for games that are played by automatic tournaments. You can change these default names (and paths) using the "Change Pathnames" command. You can also copy ...

Re: Free game recording software for Android?
I think WinBoard, Arena and 'Scid vs PC' can do but you must first have made the tournament with them.
I don't think that Arena can produce a tournament table out of an pgn file. It does have the ELOStat utility that probably can do an Elo rating list based on a pgn file.
I have the normal Scid ...

Re: Free game recording software for Android?
Sorry I still do not understand what you are looking for. Scanner, OCR like for chess over the board ?
No not anything so fancy :D . Here are two of the players in the tournament: CXG Sphinx Seville and Saitek Chess Calculator . It would be possible to record games by just manually writing a pgn ...

Re: Free game recording software for Android?
I tested Chess for Android and I'm not sure if it is possible to save games that are inputted using the Free Play option. There is two options for saving a game. The first is "Save Game to SD" but do not ask for a name for the file or the names of the players. The second is "Save Game to Memory" and ...

Re: Free game recording software for Android?
Thank you for your suggestions - I will take a look at what you suggested for Android - although you might have misunderstood what I'm looking for. I'm not going to play matches between chess engines but dedicated chess computers.

Free game recording software for Android?
I want to play some games between dedicated chess computers and record them in a .pgn file. Some years ago I used Scid on a desktop computer but this time I want to use my new Android tablet (Nexus 7). What would be a simple and easy to use program to record the games on Android? Preferably free ...

Re: Fabien's open letter to the community
I think Vas meant that he lost the Rybka 3 sources AFTER he developed Rybka 4 from them. He failed in archiving an older version.Ted Summers wrote: Question: If Vas LOST Rybka 3 Sources, Then how the Hell did he write Rybka 4 so fast. That is a hell of allot of code for a very strong program.

Arena 3.0 (Ubuntu10.4+Wine1.2) bugs?
I have been using Arena 3.0 for a few days and noticed a few bugs, might be Wine related. First, the most serious, occasionally a game in a tournament is played with the wrong engine. This screenshot do not explain the situation very clearly, but if you look at the tournament information for the ...

Re: POLL: What is more important?
Determining the individuals who were and are contributing to stronger chess engines is not very important in the bigger view of life and the universe. Creating the strongest chess engine possible (or "solving chess") is even less important. I do not see any reason NOT to give appreciation to the ...
