Bugs on Stockfish, Firebird

Post by baphomet » Sat Oct 09, 2010 6:52 pm

HI,

i detected a bug on Stockfish, Firebird and Robbolito and Houdini, they find not the right move. Rybka and other Engines have the same problem.
8/2N4r/1p3pkp/8/5K1p/2P4N/P3Bn2/8 w

All Engines says Nxf2,but with Bg5+ has white the chance to win.
Continue is Kxg5 Kf5 Nxh3 Nd5 Rf7 c4 Rf8 a3 or
Kg7 Nxf2

In this 2 ways white has advantage, and no engine find the right move.

Another position, with Ba4 it comes a mate in 4 moves, but Stockfish and Firebird says says Bd4. Only Houdini find the right move.
R7/1B6/pB1K4/1P1P4/8/3p4/pp1p4/krbR4 w

I hope the developers of Engines like Stockfish will read this and improve the engine.

Try to run rybka, ivanhoe, houdini etc with 10 multiPV lines in this position

I tried it, but no different results, i think its a problem of engines in endgames.
