IvanHoe 0B.01.10 x64 Crashes in certain positions

Post by Prima »

Kingliveson,

Recently I started playing engine-vs-engine matches and noticed IvanHoe 0B.01.10 x64, (and IvanHoe with GamePlay and/or Analysis, and George's IvanHoe 47c GH x64) crashes at certain positions. There may be others with similar crash-problems but I mainly use your compiles and George's for the stability. I also use Ahmed's and JR's compiles in this regard but they haven't been active (publicly?) in making compiles for the latest IvanHoe updates. So, not having their compiles makes it hard for me to pinpoint if these crashes are related to individual compiles or from IvanHoe code. It's likely a code issue from the IvanHoe public Domain programmers, since your compile/s and George's crashes at certain positions.

But anyway, I did not enable log files while playing these engine matches, though I saved and attached the 3 games that IvanHoe 0B.01.10 x64 crashed in. Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Hi, I havent really messed around with any chess code for more than a few months now as it can be time consuming. This version was just me playing around -- nothing new added. Does the latest build on chess.cygnitec.com exhibit the same bug?

Though I use the IvanHoe 0B.01.10 x64 frequently, I believe the regular IvanHoe builds, IvanHoe 9.47b [c] GamePlay x64 and IvanHoe 9.47b [c] Analysis x64 from the chess.cygnitec.com also exhibits crashes occasionally when used. I'll test retest IvanHoe 9.47b [c] GamePlay x64 and IvanHoe 9.47b [c] Analysis x64 in engine vs. engine matches and report any crashes.

Of course the compiles from GH also crashes at certain positions. Most likely it's a code bug.

Thanks KLO.

Kingliveson,

After playing many games with the IvanHoe 9.47b[c] Analysis x64, I had one crash in an end game position in which IvanHoe 9.47b[c] was winning. This crash phenomena occurs for some positions. I;m not exactly sure if it might be a RobboBase bug, though I verified the integrity of the RobboBases. Puzzling.

I've attached a logfile and the game, at the time of IvanHoe's crash. Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

Ok, thanks Prima. I will take a look, but cant promise when though. Also, this interface looks as if Fritz, could you paste or attach the uci settings file?

Maybe hgm can take it as a compliment, I recall when Winboard used to look ugly and now it's confused with Fritz :)

Being fair, that board seems very much unlike Winboard, it looks more like Shredder Classic:

Save for the white and black squares being mixed up
