UPDATE 5

Meanwhile,
Without to not mention this... I can not as well,

If you will use a opening suite that is full with weak moves,
Then as usual, it's expecting to be played the worst openings..
And for Top engines will be as soft touch to win the battle!
But in that case..as most important: who will win the war ?)

Btw, a good saying over:
“Sometimes it's fine to lose the battles to win the war”

In other words, if I'm going to summarize about it (in chess):
Many Champions lost some games, but managed to be best !)

On other hand,
In Computer chess, especially if testing 3500+ Elo engines,
E.g if your opening database is based, tuned to prefer many
Weak, critical opening moves, then no much chances at all...

Moreover,
To be successful in our great hobby..I think also that
It's required very hard but smarter work..e.g just via
Buying a new hardware or playing via latest Top engines,
Sounds like good, but it is NOT enough at all for sure!

In short,
Time and Learning are one of best weapons about all over!

As expected , Fritz 20 not so good not so bad. completely an average engine. I remember that before NNUE era Ginkgo was very good engine and I expected that by adapting NNUE it could be on top 10 ranking very easily but we see that this never happened yet.

@ to Homayoun

Let Me say please just my two cents over...

Well, I am a Fritz user more than 2 decades and
Frankly, it's one of my favorite chess programs, exc.
That I used to organize many BIG tournaments..plus
I often used Fritz eng series for my analyzes too..

It's true also that in latest years (since my 2x Epyc 7B12)
I prefer more often Cutechess for tours..as reason, due to
Fritz has no GUI option of running parallel tour matches..

On other hand,
Fritz 20 is Top engine with rating close to 3700 Elo and
According to my other tours, it seems latest F20 is much
Improved (about 100-150 Elo in strength) than F19 version!
And I think also that this is a very serious eng progress!

Moreover,
Fritz 20 engine comes with own, newer chess GUI futures,
Which offers excellent options..such as to play on same PC
Or training or playing on online platforms..

Btw, one of the greatest, historical events in our hobby:
Deep Fritz is as last chess engine, which played officially
Vs World Champion Kramnik (in 2006), In other words,
Since Human lost to Computer..e.g after that period of time
No any other official 'Man vs Machine' match is organized...
And it seems also that it will remain so...

Thanks Sedat. I haven’t bought Fritz 20 yet. But I will do it for sure. I have learned many things in chess from Fritz program too , specially when I was younger.

Meanwhile,
Here another impressive results, where F20 performed
Even 218+ Elo stronger (in direct matches) vs older F19!
And theirs produced draws (via Unique suite) is just 42%

Code: Select all

Score of Fritz 19 vs Fritz 20: 4 - 283 - 213 [0.221]
... Fritz 19 playing White: 4 - 114 - 132 [0.280] 250
... Fritz 19 playing Black: 0 - 169 - 81 [0.162] 250
... White vs Black: 173 - 114 - 213 [0.559] 500
Elo difference: -218.9 +/- 22.7, LOS: 0.0 %, DrawRatio: 42.6 %
500 of 500 games finished.
GAMES:
https://pixeldrain.com/u/nuH8rExA

Note: Exactly same conditions are used as recent LXIX

Btw, just I'd like to point out that too,
Zangdar 40.1 avx2 seems to be buggy, e.g crashed during official CS...
That's why Zangdar engine was out...
